2023-2024 Season.
Canadian Soprano, Sarah Cambidge is garnering wide praise for her important house and role debuts both in the U.S. and abroad. Highlights of this season include Isolde in Tristan und Isolde in Rouen, France, a return to the Opernhaus Zürich as Helmwige in Die Walküre, a role debut as Aunt Lydia in San Francisco Opera’s production of The Handmaid’s tale, as well as covering the roles of the Kaiserin in Die Frau ohne Schatten, and Elsa in Lohengrin, both at San Francisco Opera.

DER RING DES NIBELUNGEN
Ms. Cambidge returns to Zürich to reprise the role of Helmwige in Die Walküre, as part of the Opernhaus Zürich’s complete 2024 Ring. She debuted the role in their 2022 season, in this same production, conducted by Gianandrea Noseda and directed by Andreas Homoki.
TRISTAN UND ISOLDE
Ms. Cambidge debuts the title role of Isolde in Opéra de Rouen Normandie’s production of Tristan und Isolde, by Wagner. The stunning cast includes Daniel Johansson as Tristan, Sasha Cooke as Brangäne, and Nicolai Elsberg as King Mark. The production is by Philippe Grandrieux and conducted by Ben Glassberg.
THE HANDMAID’S TALE
Ms. Cambidge debuts the role of Aunt Lydia in this monumental work, composed by Poul Ruders, based on the dystopian novel by Canadian author, Margaret Atwood. Ms. Cambidge is joined by Irene Roberts as Offred, Lindsay Ammann as Serena Joy and John Relaya as the Commander. The production is directed by John Fulljames and conducted by Karen Kamensek.
